Broader Curriculum

Those of us who are not fishing are trying our hand at landscaping!

We are working on the school garden, and some land belonging to the church. So far, we have measured both gardens, amassed a huge number of ideas (which will need to be vetted by our Treasurer!!) and yesterday we visited Cardwell Garden Centre. We spent an hour learning different types of plants and trees, finding out which ones will suit us and weighing up the pros and cons of apple trees, ponds, rabbit hutches, giant archways, tropical fish, cherry blossoms, bridges... ... ! We will be learning how to negotiate and compromise so that everyone feels that their opinion and ideas are being considered! We have also bought  thick membrane (to act as a weed blocker) and LOTS of chipped bark!

Next week we will be working on the school garden so that Mrs Offord's Science Classes can start to plant their lettuces!

Here are photos so far of Cedars School Ground Force in operation!

No fish, rabbits, arches or bridges. A nice cherry tree would be fine!
